You Matter
Welcome, we are glad to be with you. We recognize that this is summer for many of you, a time of sunshine, time to relax, the time to take a day or two at the lake or the beach or the mountains. We do recommend spending some time connecting to the elements. To take a walk along the shore, to take a walk into the forest or even just to sit in a favorite spot in nature. With all that is going on around you, some of it good, some of it not so good, it is necessary to take care of yourself. We think that some of you have very small ideas of how to take care of yourself. Maybe it's time to think about what you used to enjoy, what used to bring you joy but now seems to be something you've left on a shelf. Maybe it's time to encourage your creative side. Keep in mind that creativeness can take many forms, we have no preference as long as it brings you joy. Some of you build up your energy when you're around others, and others of you build up your energy by being by yourself or with just one or two people. It's important to know what feeds your being, what brings you well-being. And at times you may find you need the opposite of what usually lifts you up. Maybe you're normally a very social being, spending time with friends, going out enjoying a good meal or whatever type of activity it might be, but it's doing it with a group, but you are sensing a need to step back. You may find that even a few hours dedicated to a quiet time, whether it is in nature, on your back porch or a quiet cafe may bring you the restoration you need. And of course, for those who are on the other end of that spectrum, you’ll normally be restored by being alone, but maybe in this case an outing with a group could lift your spirits and cause you to look a little outward as opposed to strictly focusing inward.
It's easy to put yourself in a box, to believe that the way you've always done something is the way you'll always do it. And for some, that truly is the way to go, they have figured out what works best for them and that's wonderful. But for most of you, you have settled into routines and habits that were established by your family, your place of employment, your spiritual practices or the people you hung out with at one time in your life. It might be time to check in and see if the things that you do are truly bringing you what you need.
This summer has been a time of much growth spiritually, personally, and for many the shifts and changes have caused things to come to the surface so they can be released, not to be held onto, but to be released. For some of you there is healing that went on the background, you notice that you're handling things differently, that you're feeling kinder towards yourself and others, that there's less judgment. Whether you are recognizing the changes as they happen or after they happen is not the point, the point is to be open and willing to allow yourself to grow and change and heal and become fully you. We would love for all of you to experience the fullness of life, to be surrounded by love, to have joy in your daily life, and to feel like you truly matter.
We love you and you do matter.
